Below you will find Metadata Generator, my notes document, and an example metadata .txt file. Before starting playing with metadata creation, I highly recommend reading through my notes document to familiarize yourself with some of the formatting issues and limitations of metadata files. While the generator is designed to produce successful metadata files whether you know any of this information or not, knowledge is always a good thing.
 
 
Metadata Generator
 
This is a list of all versions of Metadata Generator. This Excel file is meant to help create basic metadata files for use with pyTiVo and TiVo.
 
-Added TV Rating! Many other fields as well.
 
-More user-friendly, divided out TV and Movie creation, and it looks a bit better too!
 
-More fields, better default functions.
 
-More user-definable fields, a few default-creating functions.

Metadata Notes
 
These are my notes files of all the testing I've done regarding metadata information and pyTiVo and TiVo.
 
 
 
Example Metadata File
 
This file has all the current possible fields supported by TiVo and pyTiVo. For formatting the data, please see the most current Metadata Notes file above. Also note that this file is named "ExampleMetadataFile.mpg.txt". This is how your final metadata file should be named (<video file name>.<video file extension>.txt).
